This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to act professionally in leadership roles in the field of early childhood education.  Students will review the political, economic and social influence on the field of early childhood education.  Additionally, characteristics of leadership and professionalism in the field will be explored.  Further study will include the investigation of professional strategies utilized in specific roles within the field such as: mentor, evaluator, administrator and advocate.  Students will be expected to examine standards of professionalism in each of these roles, complete a self-assessment and develop and draft a personal professional development plan
